Some live chat providers give you the choice of a couple of pre-built chat box designs and you’re lucky if they match the branding of your website!
Luckily, our chat boxes are fully customisable, allowing you to easily choose the size, shape and colour. You can even customise the fine details like font, fields, buttons and position of the chat box!
From your live chat dashboard, navigate to Settings, then to the Design Studio. If you’re just getting started, it will display a “default theme.” Click “add theme” and then “edit” to design your own bespoke theme. This will open up the design studio, where you’ll find all the tools you need to customise your chat box.
The possibilities are endless – get creative!
Customising the Online Live Chat Button
The Online Button is what your website visitors will see when you have agents online and available to chat. Website visitors are able to click this button to start chatting.
The Online Button can be customised using the colour palettes, or you can select a colour manually.
The Online Button can either be an icon, text or you can use your own image.
You can also choose the position of your Online Button – perhaps you want it to display on the left rather than right.
Customising the Offline Chat Button
When you are offline, your website visitors will see an Offline Button. Upon clicking this, they will not be able to engage in a chat, but they will be able to leave a message, which will be emailed over to you.
You can use a colour palette or select a colour manually for your Offline Button. You can choose whether it displays an icon, text or an image, and also decide the position of the button.
Customising the Live Chat Box Design
This tab allows you to customise the chat box itself, i.e., what the website visitor will see when they are in conversation with an agent. You can select from the colour palettes provided, or set colours manually.
Easily change the font used in your chat box under the Base Font section.
You can change the dimensions and position of the chat box using the Global Box Settings. If you, for example, wanted to make the chat box really short and on the left hand side, you can do that here.
You can even customise the text on the submit button to say whatever you’d like under the Buttons section.
Customising the Prechat Box Form
The Prechat Box can be customised to ask for fields to be filled in before the visitor can start chatting.
Customising the Offline Chat Box Form
When you are offline, your website visitors will not be able to start a chat with you. Instead, they will see an Offline Button. Upon clicking this, they will be able to leave a message, which will be emailed over to you.
The Offline Box can be customised to include fields, allowing you to collect the information you need from the website visitor.
Uploading Your Own Brand Logo
To make your chat box your own, you’ll probably want to upload your own logo. To do this, head to the chat box tab in the design studio, and choose Global Box Settings from the right hand navigation bar. Scroll down to the footer section, and you’ll see the option to Upload Logo. Simply choose an image to upload from your computer, and it will display on the chat box.
